Pot Luck

On Tuesday, June 11 we will be having our End-of-the-Year Pot Luck Party.  Cook your favourite food, enough to feed 6 - 8 people, and bring it in to share with everybody in the PFLC.  Lunch starts at 11:30. Siblings are welcome to join us.  I look forward to seeing you!

Hot Lunch

The Parenting & Family Literacy Hot Lunch program is an opportunity for parents to come together, share recipes and cook for all of those who attend the program.  The ingredients purchased to make the lunch are reimbursed by the PFLC and lunch is free for all who attend.

On Tuesday, May 28, the parents of the PFLC will be cooking Chicken Curry with mixed Vegetables for our Hot Lunch. Join us on Tuesday, May 28 at 11:30 for lunch.

Starting our Community Garden

Planting in the PFLC on May 1st

Wednesday, May 1 is our big planting day!  

We will be planting seeds with the help of the children in the HSP class. Children in the PFLC will plant seeds to take home, to transplant into our community garden and to transplant into our classroom herb garden.  

We will be planting from 8:45 - 10:00.

On Tuesday, April 9 we are having a Spring Pot-Luck Party! Cook your favorite food, enough to share with 6 - 8 people, and join us for lunch.  Join us whether you are able to bring something or not. We will be starting to eat lunch at 11:30.  Siblings are welcome to join us.

Stone Soup

From Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 29 we will be exploring the concept of sharing in the Parenting and Family Literacy Center.  Our cumulative event will be cooking "Stone Soup" on Tuesday, March 26.  This is an opportunity when all of the children can bring one item in to chop up and add to our soup.  (It is not mandatory that you bring an item to join us.  There will be extra items in the center for your child to contribute) Once the soup is cooked, we will be eating "Stone Soup" together for lunch starting at 11:30. You can expand this activity at home by reading the story "Stone Soup" which is easily accessible at your local Toronto Public Library. Looking forward to seeing you!

Chocolate Fondue Party

Due to the fact that I will be attending a Literacy Conference on Tuesday, February 26, the Chocolate Fondue Snack will be rescheduled for Tuesday, March 5 at 10:00.  You are welcome to bring chocolate and any assortment of delicious items to dip into the chocolate.  Some ideas are marshmallows, cookies, bananas, strawberries, pineapple, melon, graham crackers, apples, cherries and bread. You don't have to bring anything to participate in the fondue snack. We look forward to seeing you!

Teddy Bear Picnic January 28

Come to the Teddy Bear Picnic on Monday, January 28, 2013. Music & Story time starts at 11:00.  Children and adults are welcome to wear their pyjamas and bring their Teddy Bears!

Cooking in the PFLC

On Tuesday, January 15 we will be cooking Daal in the Parenting Center.  Everybody is welcome to join us for lunch between 11:30 - 12:30.
